The functionality of this switch is exactly what I want and I'm happy with it despite some caveats...As other reviewers have commented - there is noise when you push the microphone mute button, but I don't intend to use the microphone mute button, so I don't care.There is substantial noise (hiss/buzz) on the microphone depending on the cables I use... the cables that came with it and some other cables I have are very very noisy. I bought some UGREEN TRRS male-to-male cables and they do not have any hiss/buzz and work perfectly (I'm sure there are other brands that would be fine, I just ordered some Cable Creations cables to try them.)In my setup, one input goes to my desktop, the other input goes to a DELL G7 gaming laptop running Windows 11. If the laptop is on, when I switch to the desktop input the volume on the laptop ticks up about twice a second and increases until it is at 100, so I have to be careful when switching back to the laptop not to hurt my ears and reset the volume quickly (I try and adjust the programs I play audio through to where 50 is a good medium volume.)
