(Slight tldr pros and cons below) I’ve had the first gen since 2018 and when I saw the second gen I just had to get them and put old reliable in retirement. As of first getting the gen 2 and writing this review I have loved the 2 gen. Both comfortable and light as well as decent color selection but it’s easier if I do pros and consPros1. Super durable I have twisted them and put them to the test just like my first and still retained it’s shape and no signs of cracks anywhere2. Comfortability I have worn these headsets for hours on in and I can say for sure it feels like I’m not even wearing them but still feel really secure to my head3. Easy to clean (can’t say how easy since I have no need to clean them yet other than hair4. Price I mean you can’t beat a good durable headset for 40-60$5. Compatibility works great on my PC, Xbox and my switch but I hardly use headphones for the switch anywaysAnd now onto some cons1. The headphone jack (atleast for gen 1) is like playing Russian roulette could work up to a year or break next month most notably the audio slider could have it all the way up and only one ear has audio slightly bring it down and both work (recommend getting spare cords Amazon does sell them)2. Lack of options (more a personal attack) wish there were options for no mics or wireless since I use a different mic for talkingAnd lastly mixed opinion is the audio some say it’s best for single player. I play a lot of games that sound is key such as escape from Tarkov, day z and so on. I personally have not faced such an issue where this headset would struggle I could still pinpoint where gunfire and explosion happen no matter how chaotic with both gen 1 and 2As of now this is all I can think of I’ll update as I go on but for now I recommend this headset with a just the acceptation of being prepared to buy spare audio cables for the headset.Great headphones, super comfortable too and a really cute design!! the headphones’ volume is a little low compared to previous ones I had in the past, i had to turn up my headphones volume through my console settings which I have never had to do before… still really good headphones.I really love this headset and I wish I was fully sold on it, the sound is pretty good and clear. The only draw back I have on it, is that even when muted the mic will pick up on sounds. If I could figure out why it does that every so often, I would rate it 5 stars. It is very comfortable, and doesn’t have any pressure points that after awhile hurt your head like other headsets do.It’s great, works really well. It’s super easy to use and super flexible. I love the long and detachable cord that it comes with.I would 100% Recommend this item.Nice quality ear cup improvements over the gen 1 versions, but the head band itself is rather short so for my large head with the ear cups extended to the max the head phones barely rest on my ears... now don't get me wrong they sit there comfortably and I love the fact that on these newer gen 2 headphones the ear cups can be removed and cleaned unlike the previous that were just glued on, but they still sound great they feel lighter than the gen 1's their long cable can accommodate most and the 3.5 earphone jack works with most systems. If you need a decent low budget gaming headset I recommend these just careful they are plastic and I know some people can get a bit aggressive so take care but comfort and sound is not bad and for 60$ I'm not complaining.Does the jobThis is a solid headset for the price. They're pretty light, and they have good sound. I use a Razer Nari essential ($100) for playing with friends on PC, and the same people have told me the Astro mic sounds very good in comparison. The volume control on the cable is pretty convenient. This product is the ultimate deal. Not too expensive and the sound quality and feel of the headphones is amazing. Your ears will never get tired of having this on.So I have a lot of headphones but only 6 dedicated gaming ones, of which the Astro A 10's are the latest acquisition. They are solidly built and look nice with the green accents. The Microphone is excellent and easily as good as anything out there. With regards to sound, these cans have a lovely bass asthetic which whilst it has a wide sound stage due to the huge ear cups it has a all encompassing feel, basically it feels like your in the world. Especially on xbox one with dolby atmos enabled. I would say these are not as good as the cloud alpha 2's in terms of raw sound precision, but they are not a million miles away. The overall sound quality of the headset is up there with the best I’ve ever had for its price range. That’s literally the only good thing about it.Has no mute button on the wire so if you want to mute the headset if you don’t want to talk at that moment in time then you have to manually mute it in your settings every time or be forced to spend another £30-40 on the M40 mixamp that Astro sell separately. The comfort of the headset for me is awful. The ear covers are fairly decent but very noticeable and start to hurt your ears fairly quickly. However, the cushioned bit on the headband is terrible. No comfort or cushion whatsoever and it feels like it’s crushing your head once you’ve had it on for 30-1hour and what good is a headset if you can’t wear it for long gaming sessions!Lastly, the microphone itself. Now I’m not sure if my pair were defective or what but my pair are very terrible for some reason at picking up sound. My friends will quite often tell me that I sound very quiet or they literally couldn’t hear what I was saying even though I basically had the mic in my mouth at this point trying to be able to be heard.I messed around with my settings on my Xbox and my PC to see if I could change anything that might make it better but I still couldn’t figure it out.For £50, there are 100% better products that are cheaper or match the same price.Would not recommend. Great sound quality for the price. Mics good as well, but the key feature of the almost indestructible plastic headband makes them uncomfortable for prolonged use over a few hours at a time (for me)So if you plan to wear these all day then you may find the more expensive astro models a better buy.Like other revierwers I found you really have to push the 3.5 mm cable into the headset to get stereo (both speakers] and the mic to work. If you only get sound from one of the headset speakers then the cable is not fully inserted.Headset works great with Xbox Series SX plugged into controller and Astros tuning is very good for gaming. The Spatial headphone 3D option in Fortnite and the A10s is almost like a hack. You could hear aove and below as well as behind with extreme accuracy. More than any standard 2.0 headphones I have tried. Also the Dolby Atmos app on Xbox works like a charm for media and games with the A10s.Astros default settings are also quite bass heavy so most media music users will like them on console. So great sound quality and mic, easy to connect to any device with 3.5 mm audio output. Comfort is OK for shorter games sessions. Almost perfect at the budget branded end of the spectrum.I think the 3.5mm lead should be a braided cable not stiff plastic and the inbuilt plastic volume control feels cheap and the headband needs more pusher and wide memory foam to make the A10s perfect. But for the price these are minor quibbles.
