Purchased this for my home office because everyone was complaining about the echo in my old, cheap headset. Most of the time now, no one can tell I'm on a headset at all. And, being a little hard of hearing, I can adjust the sound without turning up the volume on the mic... that's huge. Another nice thing is that I can use this when people call me on my cellphone, too (I often type notes on conference calls I'm on and if someone calls my cellphone instead of my office line I used to have to put it on speaker and then they could hear the typing). And it's just a simple click to switch to cellphone. I haven't tried the connection to my PC yet, but occasionally there are online Skype calls, etc. and I can use this then too.The reception is great and the distance from the base is amazing. I've been on calls and gone outside and down my 100' driveway to check the mail and did not drop the call. I look forward to sitting on my deck and taking calls in the warmer weather!I use Savi W710 at home. I have been using it with deskphone, cellphone, Skype/Google voice for past few months now, so far everything is OK. I have absolutely no issue running Plantronics HUB software on Window 8.1. This headset is light and very comfortable. I like the fact it has volume up and down and mute button on the headset. You can even answer and end call remotely by pressing a button on the headset (with optional HL10 Handset Lifter).Cons: If microphone/speaker levels are not properly set you may hear feedback in the earpiece. To resolve the issue make sure (a) you turn the volume on your telephone all the way down, (b) there are two dials on the left side of the docking station, you may have to adjust them to find the perfect spot to eliminate echo/feedback. According to the manual battery should last 9 hours of continual talk time, but unfortunately I get no more than 4 to 5 hours of talk time.The 2 issues I have with this are the side buttons could be a bit different for ease in choosing mute vs volume and I believe it should come with both options, the over the head with earmuff or the over the ear.It is not yet connected as I have tried but can not figure out how to do so since there is no manual. I had to google a how to video and still I can not get it to work even though I downloaded the software.In lieu of arriving in a manufacturer's new packaging it was in a zip-lock type plastic bag. I do not believe that is how a manufacturer of this caliber would package such an item. I leads me to believe that it may not have been NEW as advertised but either used or was a returned item. Either way it should have come with an instruction manual.The one pro comment I have is that it arrived sooner than was specified.Thank you for the follow up.Overall the headset works well, good sound and decent comfort. I have been using it for just over a year and the battery no longer holds a charge while in use for more than 2-3 hours max. After taking it off the charging station at 100%, it will drop to 75% within a couple minutes and down to 50% within 30-45 min. It will then drop to 25% soon after and hold there until it dies. I know it is a refurbished unit, but I still expect the headset battery to last more than 1 year.Great headset easy to operate and love the fact that it supports multiple uses like home phone, internet phone and even cellphone all tied to the same simple device. Bluetooth connectivity is great and range is very good. Clarity and easy button operation is a plus. Battery life is very good I haven't had it die during Conference calls or long Conversations . Works great with Cisco Voice over IP and even Skype and several other IM programs.Definitely get what you pay for, Plantronics products are always well made and quality, price is a little high but expected for the quality produced.05-28-15Update unit works great, a few software update have been released and they go in smooth with no issues. I am on the phone a lot for my work and battery life lasts for about 2 days of constant use, charges quick.Used every work day but only for audio through the computer, i.e. I do not use if for landline or cell phone so cannot speak to those functions. Comfortable for hours. Excellent sound quality both incoming and outgoing (so people tell me and recordings confirm). Definitely get the Plantronics hub software, some of the functionality does not work without it (audio mute indication every minute) plus it's handy to see your battery level in the computer system tray. Battery lasts all day plus. Only potential concern I have is that the mic swivel feels a tad loose. Not a problem yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't hold up long term. We'll see.I'd guess that many of the negative reviews here are from people who are having trouble with their VOIP phones or connected devices and blaming it on the headset. This headset works flawlessly and at a good distance. I like that I can easily switch from my computer, to cell, to phone. Battery life is typically just 1 day, maybe 2, but I put it on its mount every night and never have a problem. A bonus that the battery appears to be replaceable if I need to in the future. I have had the headset for about 6 months now. Money well spent for a home office.As a headset for VOIP calls it is excellent. The range is very good and doesn't seem to interfere much with wifi. Voice quality is very good (particularly when set to wide band) but if you plan on using it even for casual listening to music between calls it is awful. Can't fault it much for that as it isn't the intended purpose but it would have made it an excellent all around product if the musical quality of the speaker wasn't so dismal.Unfortunately it did not work for, it seems there was an issue with the product, at 1s thought it was the battery, supplier sent a new one, that didnt seem to solve the problem. I did ask for a refund which was given to me. I was disappointed that it didnt work me but I am happy with the way I was treated by the supplier, they tried to fix it for meGreat product. I had to buy a new corded phone to use the 710 with as it cannot be used with a cordless phone. I picked up a $30 Vtech phone and they work fine together. I had to call Plantronics for help setting up the devices and they were very helpful.Calls are clear and I've had no problems with the battery, although I have been able to put it back in the cradle regularly between calls.I find the headset comfortable and the controls are pretty clear.Only problem I've had is that I have to unplug the USB cable when I'm not on Skype as it interferes with my speaker. Probably a simple fix which I haven't bothered to deal with.Très bon headset. Très bonne qualité de son au micro et à l'écouteur.Léger.
