I’ve used Dekoni ear tips for my IEMs and pads for my over the ear headphones and found them to be good quality and comfortable. Dekoni is a brand that I have grown to trust over the years and have no doubts if I ever need to get pads or foam tips for my headphones/IEMs. I have several pair of headphones and currently use more of the hanger style of headphone stand, but they can put strain on the headband, focusing the pressure on a point and not spreading it out (although, they also do not compress the pads). Omega style headphone stands are popular in that they have a shape similar to a person’s head and would be more of a natural shape for the design of headphones. Seeing that Dakoni came out with an omega headphone stand left no question in my mind that I should give it a try.The headphone stand is made from compressed wood (think marine grade plywood) that has been molded into an omega shape. The wood has been finished in black and looks to be able to withstand years of use (bumps, scrapes, oils transferred from skin/hair, etc.). The Dakoni logo is engraved on the bottom of one side (in case you forgot who made this quality stand). On the bottom of the stand are four foam rubber feet (two on each side placed at the “corners”) that help keep it from sliding around, but also from potentially leaving marks/scratches on whatever you place it on.I have seen plenty of omega headphone stands that are not wide enough or tall enough, so the ear pads end up hanging off the edges or the cables/connectors don’t have clearance to allow the headphone to rest appropriately on the stand. This stand is about perfect, although it may be a bit narrow for some of the really wide headphones or short for those that are elongated and have really long connectors coming straight down (I consider those rare edge cases and likely not an issue for 99% of people/headphones). For a test, I tried my HiFiMan HE4XX and Sennheiser HD 6XX as I consider the former to have large round ear pads and the latter to be more elongated with downward facing connectors. Both headphones fit without issue, although the HE4XX did use the full width of the stand (any narrower and the pads would be protruding too much from the edges). I was able to neatly coil the cable and rest it inside the stand for a tidy fit.We will see how the finish holds up over time, but I suspect it will do well. I am also interested to see if having the ear pads slightly compressed as the headphones are stored on the stand will have any impact in the long run (will they stay compressed when I go to use them, or will they continue to bounce back every time and over the years of use?). Overall, this headphone stand met the expectations I have of Dekoni and this is one that I would recommend (although you may find it a little pricey, but many quality omega stands are not cheap, especially big name brands).
